ドラッカーが実際行ったのは、あらゆる報告を２か月廃止し、現場がどうしても必要だというものだけ復活させるようにしたそうである。その結果、報告と書式は３/４まで削減できたと言う。
このように、報告や手続きは重要な領域で成果をあげるうえで必要なものに限定しなければ報告や手続きに支配されてしまうはずである。
